The Celebration

     We had Violet's small birthday gathering over the weekend at the Castle near our home. The Castle we found out was built in 1870 for a local doctor's Summer Home. It one of the beautiful treasures found in our City so we took advantage of having it there. There was even a tent there already set up when we arrived in the morning. We had a Fairy and Gnome theme. After everyone arrived they set off into the woods to find items for their Fairy and Gnome Home. Everyone got very into it. Even the older cousins who I thought might be "too cool" seemed to have fun. The birthday menu included local bagels and coffee, three homemade quiches, many of the ingredients from our garden, and an amazing mushroom cake ( which I outsourced). The favors were handmade Fairies and Gnomes ( thank you for helping Shelly and Bonnie) and Fairy Wands. Violet had a blast and was talking about it all day. Thank you to all of her cousins and closest friends for joining us in celebrating her third trip around the sun!

Happy Birthday Violet!

My little bird turns 3 today. The Birthday Fairy came into her room last night and filled it with balloons. Miss Violet woke up to a roomful and boy was she surprised. She came down the stairs to find her present from Mommy and Daddy. Her very own Marble Sculpture! She was thrilled. We made her favorite for breakfast: Waffles and homemade whipped cream. Her grandparents, Papou, Uncle and and Aunt all joined us for a special birthday breakfast. The rest of the celebration will be happening this weekend. Stay tuned...

Weekending

We participated in the local beach Children's Parade yesterday. We have made this a new tradition with some really great friends. The weather was perfect and even little baby Vintage participated. Violet wore (for about 5 minutes) a handmade sandcastle costume and Vintage posed as Miss Hampton Beach 2028. Violet's friend Eva and her little brother Joey won a prize for their Lobster Roll costume. Hope your weekend is off to a fun start!

Airstream Life

Here are a few shots from our trip this weekend in the Airstream. We have such a beautiful pool there and a great view of the ocean. Papou came to visit. Vintage slept great. It must be the Maine air. We are so loving the Airstream life!

Potty Training

We tried stickers, we tried rewards, it just didn't work. We ran out of diapers last Monday and we decided that that would be the week to try Potty Training again. My almost 3 year old can tell you our house address, who the President is and recite our house phone # and my cell phone #....I finally decided she was capable to go Potty. She has a new baby sister (6 weeks) so we wanted to let her adjust to that before we went full force. Well, a week later....she is doing GREAT! Congrats Miss Violet...Mommy is so proud of you!

Beach day with Brad

We had so much fun at the beach with Brad yesterday. He is one of my dearest friends from college. It is so great that we always pick up right where we left off when we see each other. And I am so happy that my daughter Violet absolutely adores him. His visit was short, but we had such a great time at the Airstream with one of his good friends from Peace Corps and her family, then a trip to the beach at sunset. Thanks for a fabulous day TIo Brad!

Wandering Wednesday

I am joining GARDEN MAMA with her Wandering Wednesday Series. I thought it was such a cute idea! Here I stand at the beautiful beach in Wells, ME. Today I am with my daughters and my best friend Brad. He is one of my most loyal friends from College. Everyone needs a friend like him in their life. More to follow on his visit tomorrow.

Black and White Wednesday Photo Challenge

I am ambitious this week and participating in two Wednesday posts. I am joining Natural Suburbia with the photo challenge. This week's photo is a picture of a bicycle I found at a thrift shop for $15. I want to fix it up a bit and bring it to where our Airstream is at the beach. It is very bike friendly up there. I want to add a basket and a bell for sure.

Home Project

Do you have some amazing pieces of jewelry, but don't know where they are? That was my problem..I used to store my jewelry in many different spots, but then I came up with this idea. I used many of my favorite vintage containers. One is for beaded necklaces, one for rings, one for bracelets, another container for brooches, and one for earrings. I just love how this functional display came out. What do you think?

Summer Nature Table
