Favorite Gifts and Etsy Love

Here is one of my favorite gifts we got the babe for her first Christmas. I love supporting this business of a local artist, than buying gift from the big box shops. I am very happy with this Etsy Seller. You can find this artist here. What an heirloom this will be. She ate her very first food with the beautiful spoon. And I am sure this ball will get lots of love.

This Moment (inspired by Soulemama ) Thankful

A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see. This week I just had to write words. I am so thankful for my sweet babe. Not sure if you are aware that we lost our second pregnancy at 20 weeks. It was a boy. He will be forever missed, but always in my heart. There was a reason for it to happen...Vintage would not be here if it didn't and I truly believe she was born for a real purpose. I always whisper in her ear that she is my gift from God. She has truly helped me heal and I am forever thankful.

Snow, Snow and more Snow

I have learned that when living in New England, you must embrace each season for all that it is and all that comes with it. Right now we have been getting buckets and buckets of snow. For us it means,  a day home with each other and without interruption. Our business closes for the day and we are able to stay home and catch up on projects and PLAY. Here are a few pics from the last storm we had. We are due for another on Friday night. Hopefully that snow will be just right for our Perfect Snowman and we hope to finally make our snow cream. What do you like best about the snow?

Homemade Gifts Part 1

I love giving and receiving homemade gifts whenever possible. Here are a couple of my favorites that I received over the holidays. The first is a crocheted covered stone my sister in law made for me. The stone is from Wells Beach, the beach where our Airstream is in the summer. From what I hear, there are more stones in different colors on the way. I think she should start an etsy business with these. She did an amazing job. The second is a Mama necklace my good friend from Salisbury Sea glass made for me. It has the girls names on it with her new typewriter font and a piece of moonstone an old earring ( I sadly lost the other) I absolutely love it!!!! She already has an etsy shop, check her out HERE! Happy Monday!

Christmas....and Favorite Gifts

On Christmas morning...Violet woke up early and asked if Santa had come. This was the first year she was so excited to get up and see what gifts awaited her under the tree. We try to keep things simple. She wanted to open everything!!! We kept the pace slow. We encourage her to play for a bit with each new toy or game she received. We made breakfast in between. And basically lounged around all morning. The last couple of years we have had our parents over for Christmas breakfast. It has become a great tradition. More on gifts later. This year the Tree theme was Vintage of course. Lots of beautiful vintage ornaments adorned this tree. We even received an Airstream ornament. After a nap, we went to my cousin's house for dinner and made a quick stop at my brother's so Violet could play with her 3 girl cousins. I am glad we got out that day because the next day we had a huge storm and we were snowed in for 2 days. It was nice. Vintage was thrilled with her first bites of rice cereal!
