Waldorf Wednesday

     This week our group met to start seeds. The mamas did most of the work, while the kids enjoyed outdoor play. Spring has come early this year! My two favorite trees are already blooming, the Forsythia is in full bloom and there are lots of daffodils. Our pea plants will be the first in the ground. Most of the seed I started today are cool weather crops. Kale, lettuce, beans, carrots. What are you dreaming of planting in your garden these days?

Weekending

Welcome home little ones! We will add a Barred Rock and Two Silver Laced Wyannottes to our Flock. The others have a lovely home awaiting them. Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Backyard Bliss

Happy Spring! The last few days have been record breaking temps here in New England. We barely had a Winter and now we are enjoying a glorious Spring. We have so many projects in the works including:


A new Chicken Coop
Building a sandbox
Planting a rose garden
Polishing the Airstream

I need an idea for a kiddie pool. Something funky, fun and creative would be nice. Please share an idea or links if you have any suggestions.

Gardening Indoors with Children-How to make a Natural Easter Basket

At our home we try to make our celebrations magical and homemade.


 Here is a fun project to do with your children. Wheatgrass germinates very quickly , so if you plant these seeds soon they will be ready in time for your Easter or Spring celebration. The children will especially love the process of soaking the seeds, filling their containers, playing with the dirt as they sow the seeds. And the excitement on their faces when the seeds sprout! Pure joy. After the baskets are ready, decorate them with some simple homemade treats. No candy? Not to worry! I am sure all your relatives will take care of that, as ours do.

Homeschooling Moment

    This week we explored a fingerprint kit that we got at our local thrift shop. Oh what fun! We learned all about fingerprints and where they can be found. This project was very fun for Daddy to do with the kids! What was your homeschooling moment from the week, please leave a link to share.
