Fall Nature Table

We'll Fall has arrived! There is a chill in the air. We are getting our wood stove installed next month. Fingers crossed. I can't wait to sit by the fire. We have some friends visiting from out of town, so I am signing off until Monday. Here is a look though at our Fall Nature Table.

30 Day of Happiness- Conclusion

Wow what a 30 days. I am so glad I participated in the project hosted by Erin. I have "met" some really wonderful souls throughout the month. It has been a great 30 days filled with warm beach days and cool nights. Lots of knitting, thrifting, playing and exploring. I will leave you from a few pics of what made me happy today in particular order. The hydrangea harvest, finding a perfectly good rocking chair in the trash and this sweet snack cup I am putting in the shop.

30 Days of Happiness: Matching Dresses

Violet received this beautiful organic doll and dress from her friends Orange and Ocean. She wore it for the first time the other day. It made me so happy to see my little girl and her matching doll. I think Violet loved it too.

30 Days of Happiness: Organized Toys

After finding inspiration from Erin, I immediately found the nearest unfinished woodshop and to organize VV's toys. What a great store! We will be back there often. We try to keep Violet's toys limited. We like to expose her to simple toys or nature based. Toys that will allow her to learn and use her own imagination. I go through her toys often and donate what we aren't using. I think this came out great and it made me quite happy!!!

30 Days of Happiness: Getting Ready for Halloween

My husband and I have always been big fans of Halloween. My husband has been making decorations since July. Last night he made a great on that he was so proud of. At Michaels we purchased some foam pumpkins (they are 50% off this week) and a wood burning tool. At home we downloaded a design to go on the pumpkin. He transferred the pattern with a pin ( he has more patience than me!!!) and then carved it with the tool. I think it came out Fabulous. What is great about these is that we can use them every year!

30 Days of Happiness: Giving Handmade

I recently finished a couple of handmade gifts for my sister in law and little nieces' birthday. I made my sister in law a set of cloth napkins. I just love the fabric and I think she did too. I have one set in the shop. My little niece is very into Rock N Roll these days so I made her some new shirts with guitars on them. I hope my friends and relatives appreciate the handmade goodies I made. It make me very happy to make them.

30 Days of Happiness: Just the Girls

These photos are from the other day at the beach. It was just VV and me. We had a great time. Just the two of us. It was perfect weather. I am glad we took the time to go. In New England, when we have a gorgeous day, we must take advantage of it. I am glad VV had as much fun as I did.

30 Days of Happiness: BBQs

Spent Labor Day with the in laws. The weather was perfect and so was the food. We need to grill more often. Someone recently told me they had the best pizza ever and it was made on the grill. I will have to give it a try.

30 Days of Happiness: Family Outings

We took VV to the York Zoo the other day. I am not a big zoo fan. I feel like those animals should be in their natural environment, but I appreciated the opportunity to teach VV about animals and to respect them. We had never been to that zoo before. It is seasonal. It was absolutely beautiful. They have an attached amusement park and beach access. We had a great day! Family outings makes me very happy.

30 Days of Happiness: Letterboxing

Today we went on the hunt for two letterboxes in a local park. If you have never been letterboxing click here to find out more about it. The name of these letterboxes were Sun and Moon. This was the first time Violet understood what we were doing. She loves stamps so I think she will love letterboxing. They were easy finds in a beautiful park not too far from home.
