We are back!

 WE ARE BACK!!!!!
I took an unintentional blogging break, but I am back. We have been up to many great things and I will do a September and October recap to fill you in. I have missed writing in this space!

5th Trip Around the Sun...Mermaid Party

On August 24th....my little bird turned 5!

She can read!
She loves to sing and make videos!
She loves to dress herself in mismatched clothes.
She is very feisty at times.
She is starting ballet lessons.
She is learning piano.
She loves art.
She likes to make her own snacks in the morning.
She still won't pick up her toys :(

We spent the night on the beach with some good friends and had a very simple Mermaid Themed Party. I think this was one of the best parties we have thrown yet!

Happy Birthday VV

Simplicity Celebration Tuesdays

This week I am celebrating simple snacks. The easiest one I often make is Organic Popcorn with Coconut Oil and Nutritional Yeast on top. It is quick and easy. Everyone loves it around here, including the hens. What simple snacks do you often prepare? Please share with me! Join Kathy here to share your Simplicity Celebration.

Found Treasures

The best part of being on a cleaning and decluttering spree is finding things you misplaced. I had these barrettes custom made for my girls last Christmas. I was so excited to give them to them in their stockings, but I couldn't find them. I think I will give them to the girls at the next Solstice Celebration. Have you found anything lately that you had misplaced?

Simplicity Celebration Tuesdays

I have been very inspired yet again by this lovely Mama to keep simplifying around our home. We have also been having very simple entertainment for the girls this Summer. One of our most favorite things to do is head to our local pond for a quick swim. This beautiful spot is very close to our home. Maybe next summer we can bike down as a family. I captured these photos the other night.

Happy 2nd Birthday Vintage! June 30th 2012

My little pixie has turned 2. She has quite the little personality and keeps up with her big sister. She is like a little parrot and mimics everything she does. She is learning her abcs and how to count and now the potty! We had a Farmer's Market theme and brought our friends down to our local Farmer's Market. There was a drummer teaching the kids how to drum. We enjoyed a hot summer day with watermelon, bubbles and some amazing cupcakes and cake made by a friend of mine. Happy 2nd trip around the sun sweet Vintage. Mama loves you!

Simplicity Celebration Tuesday

Every Tuesday I will be joining my friend Kathy from Bliss Beyond Naptime. She is such an inspiration for me. Not only can she make the perfect cup of coffee, but reading her blog reminds me to keep our daily activities and celebrations simple. This morning I found Violet in the Foyer sitting on a chair with her guitar singing. We have a basketful of instruments that we have used daily since Violet was a babe. What a simple activity to have on hand. I was not very musical growing up, but I have tried to expose my children to as much music possible, maybe they will play me a song someday. For now it is such a fun, free activity to do with your children. Feel free to share your Simplicity Celebration here or over on Kathy's blog.

This morning Vintage loved helping me with such a simple chore using the coffee grinder. It kept her happy and occupied for quite awhile. Easter 2012

Sorry this post comes a little late. This year we celebrated both Easters with the girls. The Greek Orthodox Easter is always a little later. The traditions of the church during Easter are my favorite. I have many special memories of going to church with my mom during that time especially. Someday, when the girls are a bit older I will share those traditions with them. Next year, less eggs filled with candy. The girls got lots of useful things such as playdough, wooden figures, sunglasses and they each got an adorable vintage suitcase, which will come in handy when we travel.  Another tip for next year, if it's warm like it was this year, we need to place the eggs right before the egg hunt. It got just a tad messy. Thank you Easter Bunny!
