Christmas Eve

My husband grew up on Lantern Lane. Every year on Christmas Eve (when we are in town) we help light the lanterns on the street. It is quite magical. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner made by my mother in law, opened stockings and took a walk up the street caroling. The girls got to wear their matching Solstice vests. Later we returned home, for the wrap festival and to watch the midnight mass from the Vatican. After visiting the Vatican a couple of years ago, I can picture myself there and it calming to watch as we wrap the presents. We really try to keep presents simple. More on gifts in my next post.

And the winner is.....

 Amber (Woodmouse) said...

I LOVE him! He touches that red thing on his hat and it sends a signal to his white goose who flies down and waits outside. The goose wears a red and white striped scarf and eats red berries. Elf sneaks out and climbs on the goose's back who flies him to the North Pole.

Our Vintage Elf on The Shelf and a Contest!

I love the idea of the Elf on The Shelf. Instead of buying one that everyone else has I thought I could we could use a vintage elf that I found thrifting over the summer. He leaves at night to travel up to the North Pole to give report to Santa of what's happening in our house. How does he get there Violet asks? I said he flies, but she quickly noticed he did not have any wings. What do you think of our Elf and what  story can you think of to explain how he travels back and forth to the North Pole? A special treat will be mailed to the most creative entry. Please share on your blog, the more entries, the more fun!

FuNkY MoMmY Hits the Road

This weekend I participated in my first show.It was to support the Chelmsford Center for the Arts, a great organization. Here are some pictures of my set up, please let me know what you think. It was fun selling my handmade goodies. I love supporting other handmade artists, so of course all the money I made I spent. I am looking forward to doing more shops, especially having a table at our local Farmer's Market next season.

Dusty Buttons- A Vintage Shop Review

I had the pleasure of visiting my friend's Vintage boutique in the East Village (NYC) last weekend. What an adorable shop she has put together! The racks were filled with gorgeous Vintage dresses. She has a great collection of shoes, purses, and other collectibles. She even makes her own items. She gave me an adorable vintage locket that I will show in a later post. I am working on getting photos made for the inside. Here is a link to her website and to her blog. If you are in NYC, you must make a stop at Dusty Buttons. Thanks for having us Amanda!
