Thrifting Score

   I found this art easel at a thrift shop last week. I got it for $3. I started bringing him a bag of things that I didn't want and he gives me 1/2 my purchase.  Violet loves it. There is even a spot at the top to add a paper roll, which we will pick up at IKEA the next time we go.                                                                              

Violet and Papou

   Violet is in awe of her Papou. She can tell that he is a strong figure in her mama's life. Here is a  pic of her with him and one of his antique cars. We are looking forward to bringing her to some car shows this summer.

hammock project

  One of my dreams was to have a hammock in our backyard.  It hadn't happened for awhile because we don't have any tree stumps in our yard.  After watching a show on HGTV we finally figured out a way. And with Brian's dad's help, we finally made it happen.

Garden Gnomes

   Look at the new residents in our garden. Violet loves them. I had found this beautiful piece of driftwood the other day at the beach and didn't know what I would do with it. Then I spotted the gnomes and just knew it would make them a perfect home.

Earth Day 2009

  Yesterday while it was gorgeous we went on our first annual Earth Day walk around our neighborhood and picked up trash.  Spoke with some new neighbors along the way. There were other events we could have participated in, but we thought why not start in your neighborhood.

Violet with Grandma and Grandpa

Here is one of Violet with her Grandparents wearing a vintage dress Grandma bought her. Grandma also gave her some new beach toys and a crocheted chick made by her Great Grandma. I will post a pic of that later.
