The Celebration

     We had Violet's small birthday gathering over the weekend at the Castle near our home. The Castle we found out was built in 1870 for a local doctor's Summer Home. It one of the beautiful treasures found in our City so we took advantage of having it there. There was even a tent there already set up when we arrived in the morning. We had a Fairy and Gnome theme. After everyone arrived they set off into the woods to find items for their Fairy and Gnome Home. Everyone got very into it. Even the older cousins who I thought might be "too cool" seemed to have fun. The birthday menu included local bagels and coffee, three homemade quiches, many of the ingredients from our garden, and an amazing mushroom cake ( which I outsourced). The favors were handmade Fairies and Gnomes ( thank you for helping Shelly and Bonnie) and Fairy Wands. Violet had a blast and was talking about it all day. Thank you to all of her cousins and closest friends for joining us in celebrating her third trip around the sun!

Happy Birthday Violet!

My little bird turns 3 today. The Birthday Fairy came into her room last night and filled it with balloons. Miss Violet woke up to a roomful and boy was she surprised. She came down the stairs to find her present from Mommy and Daddy. Her very own Marble Sculpture! She was thrilled. We made her favorite for breakfast: Waffles and homemade whipped cream. Her grandparents, Papou, Uncle and and Aunt all joined us for a special birthday breakfast. The rest of the celebration will be happening this weekend. Stay tuned...

Weekending

We participated in the local beach Children's Parade yesterday. We have made this a new tradition with some really great friends. The weather was perfect and even little baby Vintage participated. Violet wore (for about 5 minutes) a handmade sandcastle costume and Vintage posed as Miss Hampton Beach 2028. Violet's friend Eva and her little brother Joey won a prize for their Lobster Roll costume. Hope your weekend is off to a fun start!
