Homemade Lolipops

Violet has been very into cooking these days. Last week she wanted to make lolipops. I was not a fan of giving her lolipops, but you can't hold out forever. I do love teaching her that she can make many store bought things herself. These were very easy to make. Here is the recipe:

2 cups of Organic Sugar
2/3 cups of water
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
food coloring (opt)

Combine sugar and cream of tartar with 2/3 cups of water. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Boil until 290 degrees. Remove from heat. Add color. Dollop onto parchment paper or into molds, add sticks when partly cooled. Chill.

Violet was thrilled that she could make her own lolipops and told everyone she saw that day what she did!

Handmade Happiness

Vintage is 3 months and now big enough to wear some of her handmade outfits. I knitted the hat and friends of mine gave the sweater, the pants and the blanket in the background as gifts. Handmade gifts really are the best. Vintage just loves the outfit too! Happy Tuesday!

End of the Airstream Season

We spent our last night at the Airstream...boy was it chilly. We had a fun time though and spent time at the beach. We had two fires...lots of marshmellows. We tried a new Tapas restaurant too and that was YUMMY! Here are a few pics from the trip.

This Moment (inspired by Soulemama)

This moment  - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.

First Ballet Lesson

I told Violet that when she didn't wear diapers anymore, she could take ballet class. Well, today was the first day. The studio is located within walking distance from my home. The owner is a friend of mine's daughter. She was me 10 years ago taking her passion and making business out of it. I gathered some friends to start a class. There is no year long commitment or required recital. It is perfect for a preschooler! The girls looked so cute and had a blast! Violet can't wait until next week.
